CAR STACKERS

Project: Kellyville Car Stackers

Double (Car) Stacker. One of the simplest and most user-friendly solutions for creating additional parking spaces.

The system does not require a pit. The first vehicle parks directly on the platform, which then lifts (approximately 1.8m), creating enough clearance for a second vehicle to park underneath. As a result, the stacker can double the available parking capacity within the same footprint, making it a practical solution for residential, commercial and other space-limited applications.

A compact platform with a 3000 kg lifting capacity, making it suitable for a wide range of modern vehicles, including SUVs, 4WDs and low-clearance sports cars. The platform structure is galvanised for durability and incorporates a design that helps prevent fluids from the upper vehicle dripping onto the vehicle parked below.

Compact Design

The compact design minimises the space required for the complete system. This allows multiple units to be installed side-by-side where available space is limited. The push-button control panel can be positioned to suit the site layout and customer requirements. The control panel includes a mushroom-style emergency stop button and a lockable activation key.

The car stacker uses two-stage hydraulic lifting cylinders. The cylinders provide direct lifting of the platform without relying on auxiliary cables or chains. This creates a straightforward lifting arrangement while keeping the system compact. One of the key features of the stacker is its torsion bar and pinion locking system.

A toothed pinion is integrated into the torsion bar and engages with the rack along the columns. An electromagnetically operated locking mechanism allows the platform to stop safely at different heights, including positions below the maximum lifting height.

The torsion bar and pinion assembly also keeps the platform aligned during lifting. Because the system maintains the platform position mechanically, vehicles can be parked forwards or backwards, and the vehicle does not need to be perfectly centred from side to side.

The platform carriage runs along the columns using wheels and molybdenum disulphide-reinforced nylon guides. This combination reduces friction between the carriage and columns, helping to minimise the power required during operation. It also reduces wear and maintenance requirements while supporting long-term system performance.

The specially shaped columns provide another important benefit. Their compact profile helps reduce the overall dimensions of the unit while maintaining the required strength, stiffness and structural resistance.

The maximum lifting height is established during installation to suit the specific site and project requirements. Locking steel plates are positioned at the top of the columns to determine the maximum platform height and provide the required mechanical stopping position. This allows the lifting height to be configured according to the available ceiling height, vehicle requirements and installation environment.
